Big Boutique Bash

Can i recommend this folks... Lovely Pigeon will be flogging her wares alongside some other creative types at the Big Boutique Bash on Sunday 28th August. The event will take place at The Maggie's Centre, Dundee between 12-4. Even if you dont feel the need to spend your hard earned cash, its well worth a visit just to admire the amazing Frank Gehry architecture and eat some BiBi's bakery cupcakes.

A Right Royal Pop Up

The Pigeon is hanging up the bunting, popping on his tiara and cutting the crusts off his cucumber sandwiches... Pigeon Pop Up is BACK.

A two week pop is planned from 28th April - 9th May to celebrate all things royal (royal wedding, King Creosote, street parties and corgis)

Expect some of the old names with a big extra helping of new makers including the marvelous Libby Walker, Nikki McWilliams, Kate McLelland and Plastic Bat.

Presenting.... Pigeon's Pop Up Christmas

The Pigeon presents a Pop-Up Christmas Extravaganza featuring more than 40 artists and makers, vintage, homewares, stocking fillers, hand-made Christmas workshops for all ages (and abilities), music and more.

We will be opening our doors on Saturday 27th November and will be open every day from 10-6 right up until the 24th December. And if buying handcrafted gifts isn't enough you can also try your hand at making a few presents too. Details are all featured on the Pigeon Pop Up Christmas page...

east neuk open studios

I will be opening my studio to all you lovely punters on 27th and 28th November between the hours of 10.30 and 6.00...

Come visit me at St Anns, Fowler Street, Cellardyke for a wee look at my work and a glass of mulled wine.

...and if that isn't enough to tempt you I will also be opening the Pigeon's Hand Made Christmas pop up shop in the Murray Library on the very same weekend. The Pigeon will be showcasing (and selling) the work of over 30 amazing artists, designers, crafters, collectors and musicians. This is the perfect opportunity to buy ALL your Christmas pressies and support lots of local talent.

More information on the Pigeon Pop Up will follow shortly... Keep checking for details of Pigeon Play workshops too (button jewellery, woolly hotties, patchwork, peg doll fairies and lino cut Christmas cards)

and rolls outs again...

Sadly the HaarShop is now closed and back to its sad, lonely self. It has been the best work week I have ever had and we have had so much lovely feedback from everyone who visited (and spent lots of money).

Highlights of the week...
1. buying a beautiful 1960's cream wool coat from the vintage rail
2. almost selling out of Jane Smallcombe's gorgeous appliqued brooches (well done Jane!)
3. sad-eyed bears looking longingly from an old school desk (and then finding new homes)
4. getting featured in Saturday's Scotsman magazine - fame at last
5. going to the bank every morning
6. patchworking workshop on Saturday morning
7. inspector tapehead playing in the shop
8. jack magic stunning us with card tricks

and the lowlights...
1. sore feet
2. multiple hangovers
3. having to close at 6 even though the punters kept on coming
4. that final sunday feeling

Massive thanks go to everyone that has made the HaarShop what it was... and remember to watch this space as I am already hatching a new plan.

HaarShop rolls in...

It started off with a grotty empty room... all we could do was drink red wine and ponder....

...we worked long into the night

...and finally it all came together!

Well we have officially popped up and business is booming! So much positive feedback, sales are surpassing my biggest predictions, the public are demanding a Christmas pop-up, we have been invited to pop up in Dundee... all is good in HaarShop land.

I couldn't have done it though without the help of so many people - Pete, Esther, Alice, John, Kate, all you lovely artists and makers, my kids (sorry you haven't seen me for weeks!). Thanks so much x

big tent fun and sun

Big Tent was a big success... lots of mini crafters creating button wonders... virtually no rain and plenty of ale and yummy food. A good time had by all I think.
