cherry cherry

I have a lovely new stockist in sunny Norwich. Cherry Cherry is a little craft empire run by the fab Gemma Correll and Kate Seaward (I Like Pens). Cherry Cherry sells all manner of gorgeous contemporary craft goodies including Gemma and Kate's own illustration work.
I Like Pens... such lovely line drawings...

Gemma Correll... the cutest wee people and critters (this really reminds me of my Eva)...

James Yorkston and the Big Eyes Family Players

The whole "pigeon" family have been in an illustration frenzy this weekend after being asked to design some covers for James Yorkston's latest single. Martinmas Time is the first single from JY's Folk Songs album and he has enlisted the help of friends and family to create 300 limited edition, hand-illustrated sleeves. Also enlisted were Fence crooners, King Creosote and The Pictish Trail and The Beta Band's Steve Mason. If you fancy a listen or want to order your own piece of JY folk genius try here... www.dominorecordco.com/uk/singles/01-06-09/martinmas-time/

I went with a series of black and white illustrations based on my random doodles, Pittenweem plates and machine stitched bird illustration (a new and highly rewarding experiment). Pete went for a very tongue-in-cheek dress-me-up JY doll. And little pigeons, Jude and Eva were inspired by the sea and rainbows.

radish

Just thought I'd share these radishes with you. I am trying to sneak as much veg into our newly designed garden as is humanly possible and have just picked the first crop of this years radishes - such lovely colours seems as shame to eat them... then again.

I've Been Drawing

Not content with sewing buttons all day, I have been working on some illustrations this week. These are a couple of initial sketches for a kids book I've had in my head for a very long time... dont want to give too much away at the moment...
