Oh I do like to be beside the seaside...

The sun has been shining up here in the Neuk so that means beaches, long walks, ice cream and fish and chips. My weekend has inspired these new pieces - think beach huts, bunting, sailors, sand and sea... and to celebrate the beginning of summer (?) Lovely Pigeon is now available in the delicious Harbour House cafe and gift shop in Elie, here in the lovely East Neuk of Fife

Yippee!! Lovely Pigeon is now available in the shop at Dundee Contemporary Arts (DCA)... my absolutely favourite shop around these parts.

new pastures

I have been working on some samples for a new range of brooches inspired by my love of all things vintage and my obsession with second-hand treasures. I've been mooching around the junk shops of the East Neuk collecting old ceramic plates and piling them up in my studio so that I can create some lovely illustrations based on their patterns. The drawings are transferred to shrink plastic (ahh...lovely childhood memories), baked into little discs and I am planning to back each one with coloured felt and a brooch pin... watch this space.

I've also been using these illustations for some larger screenprints at the DCA and am planning to try them on wood and acrylic for some more high-end jewellery pieces...
